Learn a little more about our new Kinesiologist, Natalie Fujisawa!
Can you tell us one interesting fact about you?
I have been playing sports my whole life. I played soccer, volleyball and ultimate competitively. I love being active, going to the gym and going for hikes.
Do you have an area of specialization or interest?
I specialize in active health and rehabilitation. I have worked a lot with an older population and with people who have had previous cardiac events. I am also a biomedical footwear assessor and can help people select proper footwear to keep them moving.
I am passionate about Kinesiology because I believe it is the most practical therapy out there. We all move, it is one of the most basic things. By educating ourselves about how to move more and move better, we can impact how we live the rest of our lives. By taking the time now to learn to move properly, we can prevent injuries, assist with chronic pain and reduce the likelihood of chronic diseases.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a new patient?
Everyone relies on movement for all their day to day activities. When we lose the ability to perform those activities it can be devastating. By investing in your health before or after a major incident, you can maintain the quality of life and independence that you want.
