Strength, Conditioning and Injury Prevention Exercise Class in Vancouver
Are you finding your pain is limiting your ability to live your life?
Do you have an injury and want to get healthy and fit, but don’t know how to get started?
Have you tried exercise classes, but found you weren’t able to keep up due to pain?
Have you been to an exercise class and found that the instructor wasn’t able to accommodate your unique situation?
Westcoast SCI’s strength conditioning and injury prevention (SCI+) class offers our community an alternative to the usual fitness class. If you’re looking for an exercise program that considers your medical history and provides you with a way to take control of your health, this is the place for you. If you’ve ever been to a fitness class that left you feeling frustrated because you weren’t able to keep up or even do most of the exercises, this class is for you.
Our SCI+ class provides a perfect balance of understanding your unique situation, education on what you can do about it, corrective exercises and a good workout to get you healthy, stronger and cardiovascularly fit.
Core activation, posture awareness, shoulder and hip stability will be the cornerstone of our small group fitness classes. Whether you have recently been discharged from your physiotherapist, massage therapist or chiropractor, we have the movement-based techniques that you need to get you moving more to keep you in the best shape possible. Say goodbye to getting re-injured, gaining weight and being unhealthy.
This class is also great for “prehabilitation” before surgery or to increase your chances for a successful post-surgery recovery. Exercise has been proven to increase your chances for a successful recovery post-operatively by increasing your strength, mobility, neuromuscular activation, proper body mechanics and overall function allowing you to fully recover once you’ve completed the surgery.
Our SCI+ class is also a great way to prevent injuries from occurring in the first place or to limit the severity of being injured, especially from an overuse or biomechanical related injury. We will work with you to build the strength, resilience and mobility required to continue training/hiking/working at an optimal level while staying injury free.
