Port Coquitlam Seniors Health and Wellness Fair
During Port Coquitlam’s Seniors Week, Jayde and Gabriel from Westcoast SCI set up an engaging booth at the Health and Wellness Fair held at the Port Coquitlam Community Center.
With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by seniors, they dedicated their efforts to conducting fall risk assessments for older adults. Through tests such as single leg balance, sit-to-stands, and timed up-and-go, they assessed individuals’ balance and mobility.
By comparing the participants’ stats with others in their age group, they provided valuable insights to seniors, helping them gauge their fall risk and identify areas of improvement. We also took the opportunity to inform visitors about the upcoming Osteoarthritis Group Classes scheduled to begin in August.
