ICBC Active Rehab – Now offered at WestcoastSCI!
What is Active Rehabilitation?
The goal of active rehab is to correct movement patterns and posture as a result of your ICBC injury or pain. Through exercise prescription and education from your kinesiologist, our goal is to allow you to return to work, sport and recreational activities you love pain free. Our kinesiologists will begin by assessing your current movement patterns and limits to range of motion. Through the use of targeted mobility exercise, stretching and coaching, we will teach you proper posture and correct movement patterns to create a pain free range of motion. Next, our kinesiologists will create an individualized exercise program to increase stability, balance and strengthen weakened muscles. We tailor all our exercise programs to help you return to your specific sport or activities. Throughout the entire process, our kinesiologists will educate you and help develop a plan to allow you to return to work or full activity.
Active Rehabilitation is an important part of the later stages of the recovery process. Working with our kinesiologists will help improve your health and prevent re injury. Our goal is always to give you the tools and education to continue exercise on your own in a safe and effective manner. Our kinesiologists are also able to provide reports for your lawyer or adjustor as needed.
Please contact us by phone or email to book your first appointment. We will need to ensure you have the correct information and referrals to receive coverage from ICBC for active rehabilitation with a Kinesiologist. Please contact us with the following information:
